Custom Built Camper Vans

INTRO CALL: It’s important to take a few minutes to get to know each other and what you’re looking for in a custom van. During the call, we’ll discuss the general scope of your conversion, answer any questions you have, and provide a ballpark estimate for the work. If everyone agrees on the ballpark estimate and scope, we’ll then move forward with creating a detailed estimate. Book an intro call here.

ESTIMATE MEETING: Our next call or meeting will be a 1 to 2-hour session where we review every part and detail of your project. From this discussion, we’ll be able to provide you with the price for your build. Pricing a custom camper van is no small task and requires several hours of work to capture all the details. For this reason, we charge $150 for a detailed estimate. However, this payment will ultimately be deducted from the cost of your project.

SCHEDULE DEPOSIT: Upon review and approval of the estimate we will collect a $5,000 deposit to hold your spot in our schedule. This payment will be applied to the balance of your build.

This is where the process gets really exciting! Before the start of your build, we’ll meet with you for the final design meeting. During this meeting, we’ll decide on the colors and finishes for your van, finalize the layout and cabinetry, and incorporate any components you’ve envisioned since our last discussion. After this meeting, we’ll provide you with a floor plan and 3D renderings of your build. We then finalize the estimate with any changes and issue an invoice for parts and materials, which is typically 50% of the total estimate. This allows us to preorder all of your parts and materials and be staged for production to start.

On average, it takes us 8 to 12 weeks to build your custom van. We ask that you have the van delivered to us one week before your build start date. We like to maintain close communication throughout the build by providing weekly updates and photos to keep you excited. We will also invoice you for 50% of the remaining balance four to six weeks into your build. As we approach the completion of your project, we’ll work with you to schedule your van pickup.

It’s here — New Van Day! Please plan to spend an afternoon with us as we walk you through your new van and the systems installed. Our goal is to send you off feeling prepared and well-informed. Along with this demonstration, you’ll receive a user guide and manuals. We recommend planning to camp within a few hours of Denver for a couple of days after picking up your van so we can address any questions or issues that might arise.

Any remaining balance will need to be paid in full before you head out.

Custom-built campervan build outs range from $85,000 to $180,000, not including the chassis. We work with a financing partner to offer loans with terms of up to 20 years for qualified buyers.

We are currently booked 2-4 months out and schedule projects on a first-come, first-served basis. While we do our best to remain flexible, our spring-through-fall schedule tends to fill up quickly.

A complete custom-built van takes 8-12 weeks to build from the time your van arrives at our facility.

We build on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit, and Ram ProMaster vans — any length, any height.

Vanlife Customs does not currently sell chassis with builds. However, we often hold chassis with local dealerships to make your purchase and conversion process smoother.

We provide a 1-year/24,000-mile warranty on our craftsmanship and materials. Components like fans, fridges, and electrical items are covered under their respective manufacturer warranties. If you encounter any issues, we’re here to help resolve them.
